Weekend Review, Brands Hatch Indy.
Round 9 was back in Kent at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
Saturday qualifying was dry. I was a little late out onto the circuit but managed to complete 11 laps with my fastest 55.329 being on lap 8. I thought this was fast and it was a personal best but it only placed me in 28th.
By the time Race 1 came around the weather had turned and it was torrential rain. I started the race in 28th and finished in 16th. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and teasing the bike around for 8 laps. My fastest lap in the race was a 1:06.065.
Race 2 was still on a wet track but the rain had now stopped. We now had a low evening sun shinning up off the wet track to make it interesting. I started in 16th and managed to keep 16th by 0.013 seconds. My fasted lap was a 1:01.755
Sunday was glorious, the sun was hot and the track was dry. We lined up on the grid for race three which I started in 16th. I lost a few places in the dry race and ended in 29th. My best lap time was 54.443 on the last lap a new personal best. If I had qualified with this time I would of been placed in 16th.
Race 4 and I started in 29th and finished in 26th. My best time was 55.753 on lap 4.
All in all this weekend was a success for me, I stayed up right in the wet races, improved my personal best twice and only missed the points by one place twice. This weekend ends my 2014 season which was all about a lack of funds but I managed to fund 5 rounds, 4 with bemsee and 1 with hottrax, and had a great time. Next season I hope to be entering 9 of the 10 rounds that bemsee will be holding, crossing my fingers a few dates change.
